Golf is as much a religion to many men in Australia as it is anywhere else. Courses litter the Australian landscape like divots in the fairways, and the warm, sunny climate leaves few of them empty. The best-known Australian golfer is Greg Norman, winner of two British Opens and widely considered among the world´s best players. For a long while, he held the No. 1 world ranking. Australian Karrie Webb has perched herself atop the women´s world rankings.
