Kangaroo description

International tourists often expect to find kangaroos hopping down suburban streets. In reality, the only place to encounter an urban kangaroo is the zoo. further afield, however, kangaroos are a common sight, partly due to their unique reproductive system. Kangaroos simultaneously can have one joey (baby) suckling outside the pouch, one inside the pouch and another at the embryo stage. Kangaroos range across 45 species, all unique to Australia. The smallest, the musty rat-kangaroo, measures just 300 millimetres). The two largest, red and eastern grey kangaroos, can reach 2.92 metres (9½ feet) and weigh more than 100 kilograms (220 pounds).
